Multiuser DOS for speed and reliability
MEG-Graph uses 640x480x16 VGA for high speed display of real time processes.
It is dedicated for Multiuser DOS (REAL/32) where up to 8 incarnations run simultaneously
without Windows overhead. A multitude of DOS application programs may run on the same PC simultaneously on the virtual screens.
MEG-Graph is made for continuous operation 24 hours a day without any system crashes.
Images An unlimited count of different pictures allows overview and detailed survey of the machines or plants. The pictures can be quickly loaded on demand on any of the up to 8 virtual multitasking screens or selected quickly by switching the virtual multitasking screens. This avoids the time and power consuming windows approach and yields much better visibility and clarity.
Interface The PC is connected to other computers and especially to logical controllers with an ARCnet interface, other connections (serial port) are available. The physical action on relays and setvalue operators  is performed external to the PC, and the process flow is controlled by a dedicated computer (eg. ATLAN). These controllers and computers also decide how to display the values and how to act on the commands in real world. The  visualisation program is not intelligent but only a display and entry tool similar to a front panel. Its major benefit is its modularity and capability of easy modifications and expandability.
Pictures are created with text files similar to a high level language source code. Lines and arcs, filled polygons and dynamic objects are drawn using procedure calls with parameters. The compiler allows variables and constants, nested if - else - endif constructions and macros.
Bitmap and AutoCAD slide pictures can be included for the static background and for animated objects. This technology is ideally suited for good programmers and it makes the program very cheap ( < 1k$) and versatile. We help you creating your first pictures.
flexibility numerical values in byte- 16- and 32-bit integer format, (un)signed, Intel and Motorola/S5+7 byte-swapped format, several Real-number types and BCD. All intermixed, for instruments and set value objects.
Available for various European languages, customizable fonts and error messages / help texts.
Instruments are fully scalable, also the set value objects. Real time math functions including linear interpolation can be programmed and used even by external controllers, which have no math. Database records can be read and written remotely. As all MEG-programs the visualisation program  MEG-Graph has a built in desktop calculator with Adam-Riese notation (with parentheses and math funcs) for online entry of "formulae". Slavic characters (haceks) on demand.

A  demonstration picture to show the flexibility of MEG-Graph. Low level PLC functionality is included for convenience. 

In this example the background image is a scanned picture, dynamic objects (lamps, buttons, instruments ...) are inserted with procedure calls as usual. Clicking in the switch fields (AUSLAUF, REVOLVER, EINLAUF) will load another screen with detailed objects.
The * switch opens a menu for all available (programmed) screens.
